OUR STORY

The Lily and The Sparrow is a Christian nonprofit empowering people to transform their communities with the Gospel. We come alongside local leaders, investing in people and creating pathways toward lasting transformation in communities around the world. Our name comes from Matthew 6, where Jesus reminds us that God cares for the lilies of the field and the sparrows of the air—and how much more He cares for us. That promise has been at the heart of our ministry since the beginning: trusting God’s provision as we follow His call to love, serve, and empower others.

Our mission is to empower people to transform their communities with the Gospel. We believe sustainable missions begins by investing in people who are already rooted in the communities we serve. By equipping local leaders with training, resources, and ongoing support, we help create solutions that can grow and multiply from within. Since 2014, this approach has opened doors for education, strengthened churches and families, prevented exploitation, and created pathways toward lasting transformation.

🇵🇪 PERU PATHWAYS TO FREEDOM

Anti-Trafficking & Community Development

We work alongside local leaders to prevent exploitation, reduce vulnerability, support women impacted by trafficking, and strengthen families and communities.

Prevention & Education: Equipping students, families, and communities with the knowledge to recognize and prevent human trafficking.

Survivor Support: Providing a safe place, practical resources, and ongoing support for women impacted by trafficking.

Community Development: Strengthening families through education, nutrition, Bible programs, and community-based support.

🇧🇷 BRAZIL PATHWAYS TO COMMUNITY

Refugee & Church Ministry

We partner with Haitian-led churches to create places of belonging, strengthen refugee families, and equip local leaders to serve their communities.

Local Church: Supporting Haitian-led churches where families can worship, build relationships, and grow in their faith.

Practical Support: Helping refugee families navigate employment, housing, translation, documentation, and other needs.

Community & Belonging: Creating spaces where Haitian families can preserve their culture, build community, and support one another.

Education & Scholarships

We partner with local leaders to create access to education and open doors to greater opportunity for students and their families.

Scholarships: Providing educational sponsorships that help students attend school.

School Support: Investing directly in local education to strengthen schools, teachers, and classrooms.

Future Opportunities: Helping remove barriers to education so students have greater opportunities for their future.

Awareness & Missions Mobilization

We equip individuals, churches, and communities to understand global needs and become active participants in creating change.

Awareness: Educating communities about human trafficking and other issues affecting the people we serve.

Missions Mobilization: Connecting churches and individuals with opportunities to participate in global missions.

Equipping Others: Providing resources, training, and opportunities that empower people to become agents of change.
